The Quimica project is located in the Sants district, in the north-west area of Barcelona, approximately 600 meters from Plaça d'Espanya, within a lively and densely populated urban context. The intervention originates from the intention of the Generalitat of Barcelona to transform an existing space into an open and inclusive place, primarily dedicated to the youth of the neighborhood and community activities.

The building is organized over two levels: the ground floor hosts a large multi-purpose space, conceived as the core of the project, characterized by movable partitions that allow for great flexibility and adaptability to different activities and events. The upper floor accommodates offices and workspaces, ensuring a clear and functional organization.

From a material perspective, the project is based on the use of reinforced concrete and wood: the former provides solidity and continuity, while the latter introduces warmth and comfort, contributing to the creation of a contemporary, welcoming environment in dialogue with its urban surroundings.
