House of Light and Shadow is an innovative project located in the Setagaya district, one of the largest in Tokyo. The house is organized on two levels: the ground floor houses the private sleeping areas, while the upper floor hosts the open and luminous living spaces, featuring two large openings that connect to the garden below and expand the perception of space.
A defining feature of the project is the wooden structure, which allows a flexible, open plan. Stairs, furniture, and functional elements are integrated directly into the structure, making it both a structural and design element.
Natural light, filtered through the wooden framework, creates a soft, uniform atmosphere throughout the interior. Two large glazed walls fully open onto the balconies, with sliding elements disappearing into the structure, optimizing every available centimeter and reinforcing the dialogue between space, light, and material.
