The project involves the renovation of an apartment located in the historic center of Barcelona. As is common in many dwellings in the Catalan city, the apartment has a single main façade, which provides natural light and ventilation. The interior areas are characterized by the presence of “patios,” typically used for building services and generally of limited architectural quality.

Due to the reduced availability of natural light, the design is based on the use of light tones and highly reflective materials, with the aim of enhancing brightness and improving the perception of space. The apartment is organized along a linear layout and includes a studio, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, and a living area with dining space, arranged to optimize the distribution of natural light.

The interior furnishings are custom-designed to maximize and enhance the available space, with a focus on the use of wood and local ceramics. The LED lighting system also contributes to significant energy savings—up to 85% less compared to incandescent lighting—while offering a lifespan up to 15 times longer, thereby reducing maintenance and replacement needs.
